On Monday, Oct 20, 2025, Al-Khwarizmi College of Engineering organized a skills development workshop titled (Structuring and teaching targeted languages course using four strands)

 as part of the university’s pursuit to develop teaching language strategies and improve collegiate education outputs.

 The workshop was delivered by the assistant lecturers Sarab Swadi Yousif, from the Biomedical Engineering Department, and Huda Razzaq Ibrahim from the College of Art at Baghdad University.

The workshop aimed to introduce the participants to the principles of the researcher Paul Nation, that based on making a balance using the four strands methodology in learning language:

  1. (Meaning-Focused Input)
  2. (Meaning-Focused Output)
  3. (Language-Focused Learning)
  4. (Fluency Development)

The workshop included interactive and deep discussion The workshop included interactive and deep discussions on how to employ these strands in structuring modern linguistic modules complying with students’ requirements and their growing passion toward learning languages.

The workshop concluded with significant recommendations that called for integrating recent learning techniques and authentic learning in the educational process, which contributes to promoting learning experience and makes it real and effective.
